RetroMadrid 2009

RetroMadrid will take place on the 7th of March, in Madrid (Spain). RetroMadrid, formerly known as MadriSX & Retro, is one of the biggest fairs in Europe specifically dedicated to vintage computers, consoles and games. In its 14th edition, MadriSX & Retro changes its name to RetroMadrid to reflect our support for the whole range of classic computers. RetroMadrid will include competitions, sales zone, demonstrations of new software and devices, for vintage consoles and computers. Exhibitors from Spain and from other countries of Europe will show their latest releases.

  • Date: 7th of March.
  • Hours: from 10,30 am to 7,30 pm.
  • Place: Not defined
  • Underground Stations: Batán (Line 10) and Alto de Extremadura (Line 6).

MadriSX 25 Aniversario: MadriSX revival was real thanks to the MSX Association. We celebrated this special meeting with a big MSX exposition about this standard, accompaigned by Shiozawa, member of MSX Association, dozens of people came to see the future and past of this system. How to get there

The Centro Cultural El Greco is a local arts centre supported by the Council of Madrid. It is located in Calle Greco (Greco Street), no number, in the south west of Madrid (Spain).

You can get there by public transport:

  • Underground stations : Batán (Line 10) and Alto de Extremadura (Line 6).
  • Railway stations : Laguna
  • Local buses: 33-36-39-65 (EMT); 501-523 (Blas y Cia)
  • By car: Batán exit of the A-5 Motorway.
  • Global Positioning System coordinates: 40º24'25.18"N 3º44'50.58"W

Exhibitors

In the big hall (250 m2) of the arts centre the visitor will find all kind of new projects on vintage computers:

  • New developments for several systems (MSX, DreamCast, Spectrum, Amstrad CPC...).

  • Sales zone where the collector can buy consoles, computers, videogames and peripherals.

  • Demonstrations of rare machines.

  • Emulators and remakes of old games on modern computers.

Competitions

There will be a prize draw and different competitions and quizzes on classic videogames.

Other activities

On top of that, there will be lectures on different issues related to vintage systems and a closing supper in restaurant nearby.
